May The Fourth

It’s May the 4th and for those of you Star Wars nerds…….it is the day you get to wear your Star Wars gear and binge watch all of the movies……if you have that kind of time…….there are a lot of movies!

My kids love the Star Wars movies as much as I do so I thought I’d make sure they all have some Star Wars gear to wear to school today and have some fun activities and Star Wars inspired food for them to make the day a fun one.

Most of my kids already had Star Wars shirts from when we went to Disneyland a couple years ago to check out the new Star Wars land or from St. Patrick’s Day (Baby Yoda of course because he’s cute and green). Of course some of their shirts didn’t fit since they have all grown quite a bit since our Disneyland trip but thankfully they were able to be handed down so I only needed to make 1 shirt today for my oldest (update…..make that 2 becuz my middle boy thinks the new shirt I made looks way cooler than his old one 🤦‍♀️ ). I gotta love my Silhouette machine for making this a quick and easy project. Luckily I also have htv vinyl and a blank t-shirts just lying around. If you don’t have either of these things, I am more than happy to makes a shirt for you too or you can check Joanns or Amazon for the best deals on these kinds of items.

My kid’s PE teachers have been looking to YouTube for digital workouts for the past year ( yesterday they did a Harry Potter themed workout ) so I thought I would look for a Star Wars themed one and tada! Here it is!

If you have read my other blog posts, you know I love Kahoot! I looked to see if someone made a Star Wars Trivia Kahoot and of course, someone did….yay me! Check it out here.

It wouldn’t be a fun “May the 4th be with you” day without a fun Star Wars themed snack so I decided to make rice Krispy treats since I’ve had the ingredients for them since Easter. I figured I could make Death Star shaped ones easily enough. I added some Oreos I had in my pantry to make the Rice Krispies black like the Death Star which meant I needed to add more butter to the mixture. I’m not sure that they really look like Death Stars but my kids enjoyed it anyway

Of course we can’t not watch some kind of Star Wars movie or show and Disney Plus has a anew animated series that is out just in time for May the 4th!

How will you be celebrating May the 4th. I’m excited to see all your fun and nerdy ideas. And of course May the 4th be with you always!
